“Connecting the Dots: How Social Media, Blogging, and Podcasting Fit Into A Station’s Digital Strategy”

Presented by Seth Resler, Jacobs Media
Facebook? Twitter? Search engine optimization? Google Analytics? With so many new tools available to broadcasters, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. In this student-focused session, Seth Resler, Digital Dot Connector for Jacobs Media Strategies, will show you how stations bring all of their different digital tools together in a single coherent strategy that impacts the bottom line.

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
“Picking the College that is right for YOU!”
Jennifer Williams, Beasley Broadcast Group (Moderator)
Panelists include: Allison Newman, Grand Valley State Alumni; Geneva Bass, Central Michigan University; Ilene Gould, Michigan State University; Katie Grinnell, Western Michigan University; and Audrey Wierenga, Cornerstone University
Are you trying to decide if the broadcast industry is where your future lies? Are you a future television or radio star but are not sure which college program will best develop and grow your talent? Then you need to attend this session! Young adults will discuss their college experiences thus far and the opportunities their school broadcasting programs can offer YOU!

  • Which college programs offer hands-on classes?
  • What types of internship programs and requirements are offered at the major Michigan broadcasting programs?

  • Which colleges have the best new-grad hire rates?

Come prepared with your questions and concerns and learn directly from young adults that were faced with the decision of which broadcasting program to choose not too long ago.
