Longtime Detroit radio host Matt Shepard is the new voice of the Detroit Tigers.
Shepard, who has filled in in past years on broadcasts for the Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons, will take over for Mario Impemba starting this season on Fox Sports Detroit.
The network said this past Tuesday (1/15) that Shepard will work alongside analysts Jack Morris and Kirk Gibson. Dan Petry and Craig Monroe will be analysts for pregame and postgame shows.
Shepard is also the play-by-play announcer for Michigan basketball and Eastern Michigan football. He’s hosted a show on WDFN-AM for several years and is currently heard mornings on the station.
Shepard has worked for FSD in a variety of roles since 1999.
