i-Media Strategies Founder Kevin Benz will present a conversation about how newsroom culture goes bad and what every journalist can do to create a more hospitable even happier workplace and defend yourself against negativity, harassment and bullies (even if your boss is the bully). With more than 30 years in the field and in the news director’s chair, Kevin is well-known as an inspiring, engaging journalism coach and trainer.

Boyd Huppert is a reporter and Host of “Land of 10,000 Stories” at KARE-TV (Minneapolis) He will present “The Write Stuff,” offering tips for visual journalists who want to improve their writing skills, and “Social Media: It’s Personal,”  to help you add value to your stories, before and after they air – while enhancing both your station and personal brands.

Marisa Kwiatkowski is an Investigative Reporter atThe Indianapolis Star. In 2016, Marisa and her colleagues launched an investigation into USA Gymnastics and Larry Nassar that revealed top officials at the sport’s national governing body failed to report many allegations of sexual abuse by coaches and showed how predators exploited a lax culture to prey on children. She will help you “Say Yes to the Right Investigative Stories.”

And Joe Little  makes a return to the Great Lakes Media Show to help make sure you are “Surviving and Thriving Under Deadline.” Joe  is a television news journalist at KNSD in San Diego, Calif. and a proud Multimedia Journalist who travels the country with his Garden Gnome teaching his strategies for better storytelling, on-camera performances, and time management.
