Today (11/2) is National Traffic Director’s Day!
Whether your station’s traffic is handled by one individual, or several key professionals, Traffic Director’s Day is a day set aside to recognize and say “Thank You” to the behind the scenes staff that are often times some of the most overworked and undervalued components on any radio or tv station.
The date chosen for National Traffic Directors Day is the same day that the first commercial radio broadcast was aired on Election Day of 1922 by KDKA. Wanting to prove the power of the radio, KDKA allowed the nation to hear the results of the Harding-Cox election before they could read about it in the newspapers.
So please, take a moment to stop in on your Traffic team to give them a sincere “Thank you” for all of their hard work and your appreciation for the fact that without Traffic, your station would have no bottom line.
Don’t forget to nominate a Traffic Director you know for the MAB Weekly Traffic Director Spotlight!
