Townsquare Declares Lansing ‘A Monster Sports Market’

Townsquare Media has upped the game on their Lansing sports outlet, WVFN-AM.  Known as “The Game,” the station recently increased its amount of locally-based programming from 8 to 11 hours each weekday.

Chris Tyler, Townsquare Media’s operations manager, told the Lansing State Journal that “WVFN’s changes are based on what Lansing’s “monster sports market” demands. Townsquare Media owns the station. We’re trying to super-serve the sports fan, and this is the best way to do it.”

The station’s lineup includes mornings with Will Tieman of the Spartan Sports Network; longtime WILX-TV sports anchor Tim Staudt holding down 9 a.m. to noon; Beanie Howell and Brock Palmbos from noon to 3 p.m. and David “Mad Dog” DeMarco  afternoons.
