Former West Michigan 1970s “Air Ace” Mike London Passes

michaelbrouwer275The MAB has learned that 1970s-era WLAV-FM (Grand Rapids) air personality Michael Lyle Brouwer passed away November 3 at age 65.

Brouwer is best known in broadcasting circles by the air name “Mike London,” while hosting a progressive rock air shift on the station.

He was preceded in death by his mother Alice and mother-in-law Nita. Survivors include his wife Linda and their children Robert (Laura Vorgias) Brouwer and Alissa (Marc Mora) Brouwer. Mike will also be missed by his brothers Rick (Marcia) Brouwer and Dan (Libby) Brouwer, his sisters Sherry (Chuck) Lamb and Laurie (Brett) Passon as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Reyers North Valley Chapel from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mike’s family to assist in offsetting the final expenses.
